Khamis Mushait is one of the cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, considered the capital of Khamis Mushait Governorate, located in the southwest of the Kingdom specifically in the Asir region, with an area of about 800 square kilometers, and a population of approximately 601,305 according to 2022 statistics.
The city of Khamis Mushait was named after the Thursday market that is held weekly, and the name Mushait comes from Sheikh Mushait bin Salem, the sheikh of the Shahran tribe and protector of the market.
