Hafar Al-Batin City is one of the cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, located in the northeast of the Kingdom, and is considered one of the eastern provinces in Saudi Arabia. It is about 500 kilometers away from Riyadh, with an area of about 144 square kilometers, and its population is approximately 271,642 people.
In the past, it was a route located in the desert of Bani Al-Anbar, where pilgrims used to travel between the Arabian Peninsula and Iraq. It was completely devoid of water until the governor of the region at the time, the companion Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari, learned about it and dug wells there. He dug five wells at a deep point in the valley in the year 17 Hijri, and wells continued to be dug there until their number reached 70 wells. It became one of the most famous areas with wells in the Kingdom, characterized by its warm water from which steam rises in the morning.
Hafar Al-Batin is known for its volatile climate characterized by hot summers and very cold winters. In spring, the climate is moderate, and it rains, hence it was called the capital of spring.

Hafar Al-Batin is famous for having a large number of grazing areas due to the numerous wells there, which attracts many residents to herd livestock, especially in spring. However, the number of these wells has decreased over time.
In addition, the most distinguishing feature of Hafar Al-Batin is the diversity of economic activities. The city hosts a large number of international restaurants, numerous hotels, and shopping centers, in addition to commercial complexes. It also includes a large number of factories, such as chemical factories, plastic factories, and interlocking tile factories, among others.
Hafar Al-Batin has a significant number of tourist and recreational areas, and among the most prominent places are Boudl Entertainment Park, Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari Park and Garden, as well as King Faisal Park and Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Park. Additionally, Hafar Al-Batin contains many malls such as Al-Rajhi Mall, Extra Mall, and Al Makan Mall, alongside some markets such as Hafar Al-Batin Popular Market. Another distinctive spot is the Al-Sa'irah Museum, which houses a large number of artifacts.
