The demographic structure of Al Khobar differs from other Saudi cities because most of its population are non-Saudis, with non-Saudis making up more than 56% of the city's residents. This is due to the presence of many oil companies in Al Khobar, which led to an increased need for doctors, engineers, and technicians, hence an increase in the number of foreign labor in the city.
